Abstract: The article described the technology of the extraction and purification of astaxanthin from shrimp waste. It compared the impact of different pre-processing on astaxanthin extraction efficiency, and summarized how to purify astaxanthin with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and column chromatography, which provided a theoretical basis for the large-scale production of natural astaxanthin.
