Abstract: Nervous necrosis virus(NNV)can lead to nervous,encephalopathy or retinopathy necrosis in marine fishes.The virus causing the nervous necrosis disease in marine fishes mostly infects the grouper fries and fingerlings,the strong pathogenicity and high mortality rate is a hammer blow to the marine fish culture,which had become one of the most important restrictions of marine culture industry.The study mainly reviews on the research progresses of basic characteristics,diagnostic techniques,transmission,vaccine immunology and controlling strategies of NNV.This paper will provide the references for preventing and controlling the NNV disease of marine fish culture industry.
