    Heavy metals in surface sediments and Mytilus edulis in red tide monitoring area of Shengsi

    • According to the data of heavy metals (Hg,Cd,Pb,As and Cu) in the surface sediments and Mytilus edulis in Aug. from 2007~2009 and 2007~2008 in red tide monitoring area of Shengsi. The results showed that the contents of heavy metals in surface sediment accorded with the first class of the sediments of National Standards, but the contents of Cu and Pb were obviously higher than others. The order of heavy metals pollution index in surface sediment was Cu>As,Pb>Cd>Hg. The surface sediment would be probably polluted by Cu. The contents order of heavy metals in Mytilus edulis was Cu>Cd>As>Pb>Hg, the pollution index of Pb and Cd were higher, the Mytilus edulis had been polluted by Pb and Cd.
