A review and outlook of the development of fishing boats in Quanzhou,China

Fish boats are the main tools of fishing for fisherman. Throughout history, the development process of marine fishing vessel in Quanzhou can be divided into three phases: wooden sailing ship phase, fishing motor sailer phase and steel fishing vessel phase. The paper reviewed the development history of three kinds of fish boats, put emphasis on the conclusion in development and changes of steel fishing vessel in the period of the last twenty years, and discussed the existing problems of fish boats and development direction in the future.
