Abundance and distribution of zooplankton in waters around Nanri Island of Fujian

Based on the samples collected from the survey in waters around Nanri Island during the period of October 2008 and May 2009, the analysis showed that there were 93 species in the surveyed areas .The zooplankton can be divided into 5 ecotypes, among them, coastal warm water groups,eurythermal,eurysalinity groups were dominated. The species diversity of zooplankton was higher in autumn than that in spring. In spring the highest biomass of zooplankton was located in the south-west part of Nanri Island．In autumn the highest biomass of zooplankton was located in north part of Nanri Island. The distribution of zooplankton and its relations with environmental factors were also analyzed.
